Another colleague, Arthur Fry, was interested in singing and was a member of his local choir. He was always needing to mark particular pages in his books with pieces of paper and they were always falling out. Maybe here was a use for something that might stick only lightly and therefore be easily removed.
Now came the task of getting the adhesive – that wasn’t very good at sticking to things – to stick to the paper onto which it was expected to remain! New machinery had to be developed and in Arthur fry’s basement the parts were assembled over a two year period until the problems had been solved.
