tourist attraction of the area. Buckminster Fuller believed his creation to be so fundamental that when scientist discovered an isotope of carbon (Carbon 60) with a similar structure, they christened it ‘Buckminsterfullerine’.
The ‘geodesic dome’ has been seen as a useful structural component of temporary housing in areas requiring disaster support and for military short-term shelter needs . Buckminster Fuller’s creation can even be seen in modern garden shed design - and in several modern permanent buildings. Try to make your own or at least model the net of one.
